Have you ever thought about trying something different on holiday? I've put together a summary of some of the extreme activities that you can try in Sydney, they might not be for everyone, but they are a lot of fun!

The Sydney Harbour Bridge is one of the most famous landmarks in Australia, measuring 134 metres from the top to water level. It also offers the most amazing views of Sydney from the top! In order to get to the top and admire these fantastic views you will need to take part in the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb. The Bridge Climb involves you and a group (supervised by a professional climber) hiking up the outer arch of the bridge until you reach the top. The Bridge Climb offers you 360° views of Sydney making it one of the best activities that Sydney has to offer! The whole climb takes about 3½ hours and costs around $198.

However, if you're looking for an activity with a bit more bite, then why not try Shark diving? You can go diving with sharks and other sea creatures including sting rays, sea turtles and eels at Nelson Bay. You will have a thorough briefing before your dive, giving you instructions on how to use all the diving equipment. This briefing also includes a safety video on what to do if you do find yourself in a spot of trouble! However, don't worry too much because the diving groups are only made up of about 5 people helping the professional divers keep their eyes on everyone. The sharks that you dive with are Grey Nurse Sharks, they do look very dangerous and aggressive, but I've been told that they are not violent unless aggravated (so keep that in mind)! Diving with sharks in Sydney costs around $110 for a double boat dive with the sharks (including lunch) and $165 if you want all your gear supplied.

If the shark dive is a bit too extreme for you then try a Sydney Aerobatic Thrill Flight. This involves you as a passenger while the pilot takes you 2000ft into the air above Sydney while doing spins, flips and other stunts and apparently that's just the warm up! After you have got as comfortable as you can be with the simple aerobatics, the pilot will try manoeuvres like Split S and Cuban Eight where you will experience some G force. Then when you're ready the pilot will put all these moves together in a sequence making you feel like you're on a rollercoaster, but don't worry you can speak to the pilot through the intercom if it all gets a bit too much! This is the most expensive activity at $440 for a 40 minute flight.

If you want to find out more about other less extreme activities to do in Sydney, then there's plenty of travel reviews out there to read up on, so you can plan your trip! These travel reviews can also help you plan the rest of your holiday in terms of booking accommodation, flights and car rentals. They can even recommend the best places to eat, and there are plenty of good restaurants in Sydney!
